According to the Chinese zodiac, 2020 is the Year of the Metal Rat. It will start from 25 January 2020 until the following Chinese New Year’s Eve on 11 February 2021.
Year of the Rat is the first in the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals cycle. The zodiac animal signs are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig. Zodiac signs play an important part in Chinese culture, and can be used to determine a person's fortune for the year, marriage compatibility, career fit, health situation and so much more. There are many websites which give interesting prediction for the coming year not only for people born in the year of the Rat but also for other zodiac signs. So, I will not cover those aspects here.
In the next few sections, I am excited to share a legend on the Chinese Zodiac animal signs and common Chinese New Year phrases and greetings. During Chinese New Year, it is a tradition for the married adults to give 'red packets' (hoong pao) to their children and those who are still single. However, to bring in a new trend, some people are starting to give Chinese New Year t.shirts as it is perfect to wear for good fortune and luck when celebrating this festive time.
Check out this t.shirt for children for Year of the Metal Rat 2020
